Bethesda recently shared a blog post announcing a new milestone for Fallout 76. The post revealed that the game has now reached a total of 17 million players, including both those who purchased a copy on PC or Xbox and those who tried it via Xbox Game Pass.

By the end of 2022, Fallout 76 had already reached 13.5 million players, which means that within a year, the game managed to attract an additional 3.5 million users. Since the end of 2018 when it was launched, Fallout 76 sold 1.4 million copies, marking the last time Bethesda officially disclosed sales figures. So, it remains uncertain how many of the current 17 million players did buy the game.

Jon Rush, the developer behind the game, also mentioned in a blog post that there are still more things to come for Fallout 76. In spring 2024, Bethesda will be launching a new installment called Atlantic City – America's Playground, which will introduce a new mission, "in which players will confront the legendary Jersey Devil, along with new story-driven quests, more areas to explore and, of course, plenty of rewards."

Later in 2024, Bethesda plans to expand the game's map by adding new locations to the south, specifically the Shenandoah woodlands.

One more thing Bethesda stated is that they will be enhancing Fallout 76's Seasonal Events throughout 2024. These events will occur more frequently than before and each will provide brand-new rewards for players to collect and enjoy.

"Among all this exciting new content, we're planning to release several additional features and improvements that benefit our avid builders and adventurers alike," reads the blog post. "Whether you've roamed Appalachia's wilds since day one or are still adjusting to the natural light outside the fluorescent halls of Vault 76, next year marks an exciting time to adventure into Fallout 76 and make friends in Wasteland."

Adding to the upcoming changes, starting April 12, 2024, Amazon will start streaming the Fallout TV series.
