MachineGames is looking for several talented workers for its next AAA title. What's interesting about it is that the job listing for a Network Programmer mentions the candidate should have "knowledge and understanding of online matchmaking services," suggesting that this new game has multiplayer elements.

Another position, Senior AI Programmer, wants the person to have an "understanding of multiplayer bots as human replacements." This points to the studio preparing something unusual for the fans, although it's not clear how and where it will implement the multiplayer feature.

If you're interested, here are the requirements for Network Programmer:

  • Have experience from at least one full cycle of AAA game production.
  • Demonstrate and apply strong problem-solving and debugging skills in C++.
  • Write clean, professional, well commented and maintainable code.
  • Show good knowledge of mathematics for 3d game development.
  • Understand a large set of the many components that make up a modern video game and show capabilities of independently taking on tasks.
  • Experience with networked gameplay and object replication in a client-server model.
  • Lastly, you are passionate about games!

And for Senior AI Programmer:

  • Demonstrate and apply strong problem-solving and debugging skills in C++
  • Write clean, professional, well commented and maintainable code
  • Show good knowledge of mathematics for 3d game development
  • Understand a large set of the many components that make up a modern video game and show capabilities of independently take on tasks
  • Demonstrated experience from working on at least one or two fully shipped AAA game productions
  • Experience using Havok products, physics, AI
  • Experience working with AI Finite-state machine systems
  • Fully proficient in English in both written and oral communication

MachineGames has developed several Wolfenstein titles and is now working on an Indiana Jones game produced by Bethesda's Todd Howard. There are also rumors of it creating Wolfenstein 3, so could either of these have matchmaking? Or is it a totally new experience?

I doubt the team has extra hands for something totally new, so I'd say Indiana Jones will make us happy with multiplayer. What do you think?
