Take a look at Digital Isaac, a collection of extremely detailed 3D self-portraits created by the author with the goal of testing out different facial expressions. While the specific software used for creating the portraits remains undisclosed, it's widely known that Isaac is proficient in Maya, ZBrush, Arnold, and XGen, so it's highly probable that a combination of these tools was utilized in the production of these remarkable renders.
