Check Out This WIP App That Enables Wallhack In Real Life

Tony Morales has previewed an upcoming AR app that lets you see through walls.

Tony Morales, an AR Developer and Engineer specializing in visionOS, iOS, and macOS development, has recently astonished thousands by unveiling an early prototype of an incredible augmented reality app that enables users to see through walls.

The inspiration for creating this app struck when Tony's parents were contemplating tearing down a wall in their home, and the AR app was envisioned as a tool to help them visualize the potential open floor plan. According to the author, the initial prototype was developed in Swift using RoomPlan, ARKit, RealityKit, Metal shaders, and SwiftUI, with the creator noting that the visionOS version would "display your home in a little volume".

"This is just a very early, very buggy prototype – so right now the textures captured and applied to the RoomPlan/RealityKit objects only work for a single session," comments Tony. "I will continue iterating on the idea and I’d like to implement an ARWorldMap to relocalize (i.e. to be able to “reuse” saved textures) and a USDZ export (like most RoomPlan apps) so people can save a lo-fi textured version of the scanned structure."

The creator further emphasized that the demonstrated prototype only shows an early WIP version of the app, planning to further refine it and add more functionalities before launch. We highly encourage you to visit Tony's website and LinkedIn page so as not to miss upcoming technical breakdowns the developer plans to release after the winter holidays.
